Short version: first-party analytics only, no third-party trackers, no advertising networks, and we never put your email address into our analytics.
What we collect
We record anonymous events about how pages are used: which page was viewed, how far down a guide someone read, and when an outbound link was clicked. Each visit gets a random session identifier stored in your browser for the length of the visit. It is not tied to your name, your email, or anything that identifies you.
We set one first-party cookie, mf_attr. It holds three things: that random session
identifier, a single word describing how you arrived (for example "google-organic" or "direct"),
and the time the visit started. It expires after thirty minutes of inactivity, it is never shared
with anyone, and it is not used to recognise you on a later visit or on any other site. Its only
job is to remember how a visit began, so that a click on an outbound link can be connected back
to the page that earned it.
When you click an affiliate link, our redirect records the time, the link, the destination, and the page you came from. That record is how we understand which research is useful. It does not contain anything that identifies you personally.
What we do not do
- No third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking pixels.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of personal information.
- No cross-site profiles, and no attempt to identify individual readers.
- No email addresses in our analytics — the system rejects them by design.
If you give us an email address, we use it only to send what you asked for. We do not sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. This site is currently a prototype: the signup form stores nothing and sends nothing.
After you leave
When you follow a link to a manufacturer, you are on their site under their privacy policy, not ours. Affiliate tracking is theirs, not ours, and we have no visibility into what you do there beyond whether a purchase was eventually credited to us.
